In our ‘Journey to Civility’ Short Story Writing Competition, we invite budding writers to create inspirational short stories that promote the essence of good moral characteristics. 

The winning entry will receive a cash prize of £5000 and the next top 10 entries will receive prize money of £500 each. The winning stories may be used for an educational project that inspires change in society. This competition is a platform to present your talent and contribute to a world of positivity.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

By entering the Global Civility ‘Journey to Civility’ Short Story Writing Competition, you agree to accept and be bound by the following terms and conditions. All entry instructions form part of the terms and conditions. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Entry is FREE and no fee is required. 
  • Entries must be in English. 
  • Entry to the competition is online only, with entrants submitting their story (as a text document). 
  • You must attach your story as a Word or text document to your online entry.  
  • You may submit multiple entries on one form. 
  • All submissions must be made online, with all required fields completed. 
  • The closing date is 31st August 2024 and entries will be accepted up to 11pm (BST) on that date.
  •  Entrants must be over 18. 
  • Although the competition is advertised to university students, you do not have to be a student to enter. 
  • Entrants from all backgrounds can enter, they can be published, non-published or self-published authors. 
  • Entrants from overseas are welcome. 
  • Entries will be evaluated based on adherence to the story writing brief, creativity, appropriateness of theme, character development, and overall impact.
